We at PC Pitstop are a different type of company. Since its inception in November 1999, PC Pitstop has operated as a virtual company. We hear of people working from their homes, but as of now, we have not heard of a whole company that works entirely out of their homes. We believe that virtual companies are part of the future of business. For this reason, we are building this web site. Here you will find lots of information about running a virtual company, and also tons of tips of being effective working from your house or in a virtual environment. Enjoy!

Radio is an industry ripe to go virtual. Whether you believe that the future lies in wi-fi or not, the fact is that cheap and reliable service such as Skype are threatening to make devices such as ISDN links obsolete. Free lance disc jockeys (quaint term, that) have been using ISDN’s from elaborate home studios for years, but today with a good quality mic, a small mixing board and a decent computer you can be up and running for under $1,000 and sound as almost as good by using Skype.
Of course, this requires a completely different mindset for radio managers and consultants who derive some of their great pleasure in life from screaming in the faces of hapless minions, but such is the price of progress.
We have been running a virtual company for nearly six years now. We do IT & Business Solutions for small to medium companies. It is run from our home. Being virtual we do remote support from our home, build Websites, Host Websites & email and provide Internet Access. I am happy to give anyone advice on how to make a success of running virtually and overcoming obstacles that come up daily or to answer any questions anyone may have.
Web site to connect retired or unemployed seasoned insurance adjusters world wide with insurance companies looking to fill a desk part or full time with a virtual adjuster. No fee for adjusters or carriers, just trying to make a connection. I did this type of virtual adjusting for over one year so I know it works. I believe that Virtual work of anytype is the way of the future. Jeff
I started a very successful commercial photo-voltaic (solar) component manufacturing business in a 100% virtual environment. We have been going strong for last 3-4 years and have incredibly accelerating sales volume. We contract and fulfill through individual manufacturing plants in ~ 16 states and have many dozens of manufacturers who manufacture our products to specifications we provide. We use large regional 3rd party trucking companies we direct for deliveries. Sales are all over the country and all by phone and email. Lastly, accounting, bookkeeping, attorney & engineering services are all also virtual with none of those professionals we use on a regular basis even in our state. Incredible advantage in controlling our overhead costs and opening up almost unlimited growth. Plus the nature of our business (various state tax credits & exemptions) tends to change within the solar industry so we are able to most focus our manufacturing and sales where the COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS tend to be at any given time, not limited to where we are.
I’m reviewing several other potential businesses through people who know me who would like me to apply similar business model to other business areas, which I am excited to do. Operating as a virtual business opens up many areas of potential business as long as you’re smart, seasoned in business in general and avoid costly mistakes.
